1999

VSOC Centre Nine's Millennium Run

Mid day 31st December 1999

With just 12 hours to go before the most hyped event in this millennium, we decided to celebrate in our own unique way with our last club run of the century. So, even though you might not be able to remember the events around midnight, those of 12 hours earlier will remain very clear.

Fortunately the hard frost's of the previous couple of nights had given way to slightly mistier and warmer conditions (if you can call 4 degrees Celsius warm!) As a result we had what I can only describe as an amazing turn out for a ride in December with some THIRTY machines owned by club members and their friends turned up for the sedate run into the biker Mecca of Matlock for the last time this century.

A memorable run as we managed to keep the bikes strung together for most of the run, surprising one policeman in his patrol car at Ambergate… far too many of us for him to contemplate pulling us to check number plate size & legal exhausts. Nice to see a couple of new faces turn up for the run… here's to plenty more in 2000!
