Ride Out To Willingham Woods
This was John's first organised ride out as
Nottinghamshire Area Rep, and he picked a popular destination.
As we were at
the end of a holiday, we arranged to meet Rod And Cath at 10-30am, Bingham
Services, I needed a lay in!
So what happened to the sun? Lovely Sat, cold
Sun, bloody weather. Rod was waiting, Cath was so cold she stood in the
garage.
So we agreed to stop at the Cherry Tree Cafe, for a warm, and a cup
of tea.
In true Lost Rider style, we never did find the cafe, in the centre
of Market Rasen, Rod asked me if we had passed it, It's a bit late now, I said,
Do you know where Willingham Woods is? No he replied as he drove off,
rats.
We were lucky enough to drive past the entrance, and as we pulled in,
we saw the massed ranks of bikes, great we have found it.
There were at
least 30 Lost Riders there, great turn out, and as we spent time chatting
several more arrived.
We thought it would be a good idea to take a BBQ, most
people just wanted to sit on it to get warm.
Rod got it going nicely, put
the sausages on, and was politely informed that BBQ's were not allowed, we
assured the woman we would not do it again, and carried on cooking.
Some
very nice policemen gave us a plastic stand, and talked ourselves silly about
the coming season, only three weeks to the Yorkies.
Thanks John, great trip,
I think most successful too, good to get so many members out together,
Terry
