Kendra's Surprise Birthday Party

Sunday 20th May, some 20 of us went to Tony's surprise birthday party for Kendra.
It was held in a rather large hotel near Repton, North Notts, The Old Bell.
Speaking to those there, it quickly became apparent that the "Turn right", on the A1 had got us all thinking,
when as we all found there was a barrier in the way. No problem we all found the venue anyway.
There were around 100 guests laying in wait for Kendra, when she finally arrived, she opened the door, looked in and closed it again, when she came into the room I thought she would burst.
It took her an age to greet everyone, it is so difficult to have such a surprise, all credit to everyone for pulling it off, she really had no idea.
Tony said a really moving piece, interrupted several times by Kendra, mostly to put him right, something us men all understand.
In reply, Kendra was no less moving, she has quite a story to tell.
We had a young lady to interpret the signing for the hearing amongst us, and absolutely brilliant she was too.
The evening went very well, after a somewhat embarrassing start, ladies, you will all relate to this.
Imagine, you walk into the room, wearing that lovely dress you bought only the other day, and horror of horrors,
someone else is wearing the same dress.
It is hole in the ground time, and then while you are trying to get over the shock, someone else walks in wearing the exact same dress.
Well that is just what happened, when at first Moira arrived, sat at the table as the other guests arrived, and in walked Jane.
Oh No, how can this be? Hello Ken, Hi Gina, we recognize that dress, AAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!

Don't worry girls you all looked lovely, bet none of you wear it again though.
Many many thanks to Tony, for the invite, it was a special evening.
