SherWood ShinDig Test Rideout 19th March
2006
Proposed "Sherwood Shindig" ride-out. Sunday 19th.
March.
The weather was cold and dreary, but it was dry!
And no
matter what the weather as soon as you see the other members of the group
waiting as you pull in to the meeting point, it always looks brighter!
Four
of us set off from Clay Cross Powersports to meet up with the main group at
Alfreton,
to run the route we will be riding at the Sherwood Shindig
National Party in July.
Malc (Centre 9 Rep) was the man who had the job of
working out the route and led from the front (as always).
The group was now
14 strong was keen as always to enjoy ourselves!
We set off towards Matlock
(a must for visiting Bikers) and even at this time of the year the scenery
takes some beating!
We wound our way through Darley Dale, Rowsley, into
Bakewell and ending up at Moneyash,
where we moved into the café for
some refreshments and a good helping of chatting and banter.
We were joined
by another two riders at this point.
As what usually happens when we meet,
the time slips by, but we had to set off and finish the ride.
The weather
stayed dry and we set off towards Cromford and finally back to
Alfreton<
where the group split up and said our farewells.
The
Derbyshire group made its way back to Powersports for more coffee and chat
before going our separate ways once more.
If on that morning you looked out
at the weather and said " it looks 'orrible" I am not going,
well 16 of us
did go and it was a great ride!
