Hi All, last night Sat 18th July at the Faro rally our own Nick Lappage won best
paint job on his bike. This event boasts 45000 campers and a turn over of 165000
people over the weekend.
The numbers sound incredible but every year it gets bigger,
and it reflects the Portuguese culture of never seeming to need sleep, they will
party 24 hours a day and so the campsite is a melting pot for all European bikers
from Thursday till Sunday. Anyway we were there to cheer Nick on along side of the
BSH, Albi and Lainy. The competition was huge but he overcame all, won best paint
and had to ride the bike across a vast stage to pick the prize up from a scantily
clad Portuguese girl, it's a hard life Eh.

Wanted
Do you own a 1996 XV535 S? Specifically one with a chrome side stand. Gary at CMC Chesterfield wants to cast his eyes over the side stand for a customer to answer a question they don’t have the answer for.

Some sad news
Many of you know that Paul Harrison (disco Paul) had an accident at the big roundabout at Newark on the way home from the Gathering. Paul was badly shaken but the doctor at the scene gave him the OK to go home. The bike didn’t get off so light, the main frame was broken apart, alloy might be lighter but don’t like impact! It appears that Paul lost control of the bike whilst changing lanes and ran over some pieces of broken broom handle, real bad luck, we got the bike loaded and Paul on his way home at about 5 o’clock, many thanks to all who stopped, especially Rod and Kath who stayed and helped sort things out.

Paul has been in contact with Ken and he is a lot better today and sends his thanks for all the Centre members that stopped. It appears that his bike might be written off. Still he is OK and that is what matters.
