Me and My Bike

Yamaha Wildstar XV1600

I got my bike in June 2005, Jane and I went with our good friend Jim to have a look, Thanks Jim, we went for a ride for a few minutes and were instantly hooked.
The immense power was very obvious, although it didn't run too well, we thought it had been standing, so this must be it.
The ride home was glorious, at 70 mph we just seemed to glide along, this is what it is all about. I got home, about 120 miles, and used a full tank of petrol, 4.5 gallons, blimey, I knew then something was wrong, and after a few tries and fitting a Hypercharger, and then a few more tries, I have managed to sort the beast out.
We now average over 60 mpg, and the engine is as sweet as a nut.
Since we got our bike, many changes have been made. One of the most important being the Mustang seat, what a difference.
The hypercharger looks good, but does it really do anything? I am not sure.
The single most important change I have made to my bike, is the Addition of a handlebar mounted speedo. This alone transforms the riding experience so much, it is a different bike. Get one, you will not be disappointed.
On the first weekend we picked up our Wildstar, we did over 400 miles, we have since toured the Wrong way round, England, Wales, Ireland, Northern & Scotland, 1500 miles in 10 days.

Numerous rallys, and our 'Piece De Resistance', our trip to Corfu. This was a really magnificent experience, 3 weeks riding through Europe, some of the best scenery, the sun shone, great people, more fun than we could ever have hoped for.

We have been so lucky to have made the trip.
And the bike? never missed a beat, there for us every time we called, safe, reliable powerful, and damn good looking too!
